Daryl and Jeanette from Sudden Double Deep return to Flixwatcher to review Daryl’s choice Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a 2011 version of the classic John le Carre novel directed by Tomas Alfredson, starring the cream of British (albeit male) actors including Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Stephen Graham, Toby Jones and John Hurt.   In short, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is about finding a mole in M16 during the height of the Cold War in 1973. A lot more happens around that but to try and give a respectable summary wouldn’t do the complex plot justice.

Scores

Some people might be infuriated by it’s purposeful slow pace but if you stick with it you’ll be richly rewarded. It is worth it just to watch Gary Oldman swimming in Hampstead Heath mens ponds with his prescription glasses on – if that hasn’t sold it then nothing will. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy scores pretty high across all categories from everyone and scores a very recommendable 4.21 overall. What do you guys think? Have you seen Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy ?
