Did you ever wish you were 30, flirty and thriving as a teen?! If so we’ve got a treat for you for Flixwatcher 200 episode special with Helen’s choice 13 Going On 30.
3 Going On 30 is a 2004 fantasy rom com starring Jennifer Garner as Jenna Rink and Mark Ruffalo as Matt ‘Matty’ Flamhaff with Judy Greer and Andy Serkis co-starring. 13-year-old Jenna wants to be popular and grown up, when her birthday party doesn’t go to plan and she makes a wish to be 30 and through the power of magic dust wakes up and her dream has come true. Adult Jenna lives in her dream penthouse works for Poise magazine but she’s no longer friends with Matty, she doesn’t visit her parents and in her own words she is a “tough bitch”. Seeing her life through child Jenna’s eye’s she realises her dream life might not be as good as it seems.
Driven by an utterly charming performance of wild-eyed innocence and comedy from Garner and top tier rom com Ruffalo 13 Going On 30 is a notch above your average romantic comedy, even if Kobi remains unimpressed. If you’re vaguely curious to watch Mark Ruffalo do the ‘Thriller’ dance this film is for you.
