On the eve of their latest season Beth Eyre and David K Barnes came into the Flixwatcher Pod Studio to talk about “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ for Episode 47!
P&P&Z, as it will now be called, was chosen by David who wanted to see if this film would satisfy his desire to be the only person sitting in the center of the venn diagram of horror films, comedy films and Jane Austen adaptations. It turns out he might well be the only person!
The full weight of the concept of P&P&Z is bourne wholly on the title and unfortunately suffers the same burden as many high concept films. The premise has a great idea, but the execution does not see the film all the way through to the end.
The Flixwatcher Crew ranged from apprehensive and reluctant to excited to watch the film and all feelings prior to watching were justified. P&P&Z started off better than most of the crew expected and surprised most the the guys sitting round the table, but that “high” start ebbed away and by the 3rd act there was a lack of interest.

David admirably defends P&P&Z and gave it a 3 across the board. It picked up it’s highest rating of 3.5 in the Small screen Score category and but there was very little appetite to watch it again!
