Joining Kobi and Helen for Epsiode 37 are returning guests John Lunny and Rob Garwood for John’s choice Force Majeure.
Force Majeure (or The Tourist) is a 2014 Swedish comedy-drama, it follows a family on a skiing trip to Alps which is interrupted by a non-threatening avalanche, how the husband Tomas reacts sets in motion the actions and emotions for the rest of the film.
Nothing much actually happens in this film – apart from the complete breakdown of the foundations of marriage and questioning of masculinity and patriarchy – over two hours. Its an uncomfortable mixture of tension and humour set against a stunning snowy landscape.
